Independent Living Skills Trainer /Occupational Skills Training Coordinator

Location: Bridgeport

This individual will develop, implement, monitor and document cirricula for all aspects of Human Services programs for all ( DDS, DSS and DMHAS ABI consumers) create and perform assessment including pre-and post tests; design and monitor ILST, education and occupational/vocational training plans; train staff to write consumer-based, measureable, curriculum-based plans and to document assessments and services utilizing Sigmund and datasheets; provide training programs to consumers; develop new consumer training programs; write proposals to acquire funding for customer training programs; and ensure that staff training that is required by contact is provided and documented in a timely and accurate fashion

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, occupational therapy, psychology; Master degree preferred
2yrs direct service exp
Excellent organizational, administrative, verbal, written and computer skills
Strong team leader and team player
Valid CT license, registered and insured vehicle

Assists individuals with behavioral and health conditions meet their employment potential, and provide job placement and job coachiing out in the community.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, or related field, or Associate's degree with two-years practical work experience or professional certification.
Experience working with adults with behavioral health conditions, preferably in vocational programs.
Good organizational, communication and interpersonal sklls and ability to work as a team.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Independent Living Skills Trainer

The role of the Independent Living Skills Trainer is to assist people with acquired brain injuries or other disabilities in achieving independent living goals and objectives for self-sufficiency. High School diploma plus 2 years experience or Associate's degree plus one year experience providing services to individuals with brain injuries. Valid CT driver's license and reliable, insured car required. Goodwill provides disabiity related training and First Aid and CPR.
