Three young people received certificates at a graduation ceremony in the community Room at Goodwill ’s Headquarters in Bridgeport. Auria Maldonado, Jennifer Maldonado and Diana Sosa completed Goodwill ’s Young Adults Program.  All three were referred by the Bridgeport Board of Education and are also graduating high school this year.

This vocational transition program provides services to high school special education students, referred by local boards of education. Goodwill teaches these individuals job skills through weekly vocational skills groups and vocational exploration at Goodwill and community job sites. Goodwill then facilitates their transition to employment and adult services. This year’s graduates are currently applying for jobs in the community.

Goodwill Industries of Western Connecticut is a non-profit organization that provides employment and support services to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Goodwill programs help people gain the skills they need to obtain and keep a job so that they may become self-sufficient.
